Virpazar is a tiny charming town located on the Skadar Lake.
By taking this tour you will have the opportunity to experience the boat ride on the biggest lake of south-eastern Europe – the undiscovered treasure of the Balkans!
Skadar Lake National Park belongs to the central Montenegro region famous for its vineyards and high-quality wines and grapes. Besides that – the food in this region is very much focused on the fish from the lake – trout from the lake, carp traditionally prepared in marinade and eel.
In the region of Skadar Lake there are 20 monasteries, churches, villages, fortresses and sacred monuments. This lake is witness of Montenegrin history from the 11th century up to now. Around Lake itself, there are 18 important historic monuments.
This boat tour will start from Virpazar, and through the reeds and waterlilies enter into the flow of river Moraca towards Vranjina and Lesendro fortress.
On the boat, you will be served by traditional Montenegrin priganica with honey and cheese, and enjoy the wonderful views over the mountains surrounding the lake and lake surface covered with waterlilies.
Upon return from a boat ride, you will be taken for a wine and food tasting in one of the charming family-owned wine cellars in the vicinity of Virpazar.
All participants should bring sun protection (sun cream, sunglasses and hat), comfortable shoes, a spare T-shirt and at least 1 bottle of water.
A waterproof camera is also recommended because of the magnificent views and sceneries along the road.
