I found the Montenegro Adventures Walking Tour of Kotor on Viator.com and registered. Because the tour didn’t meet the minimum number of participants (5), the company reached out to me in advance to propose a private tour for an additional fee. The fee was modest, and this worked out great for me. The day before the tour, the company followed up with an e-mail including my guide’s name, mobile number, a PDF of the sign he would be holding, and very precise instructions for where he’d be waiting. Everything worked out perfectly, and I met my guide just outside the city walls. Slavko was friendly, polite, and incredibly knowledgeable about Kotor and Montenegro. We spent about 90 minutes walking the streets, looking at key sights, and talking about the history of the town and the surrounding region. I learned a lot -- so much more than I would have gotten on my own. Thanks for a great day in Kotor!

We visited Montenegro Adventures’ office to get help for planning a trip to the beautiful Ostrog Monastery. Slavica from the office gave us the best service by spending one hour to help us plan the trip and get a recommended driver to drive us there and be sure the driver knew the plan. The service was professional, detailed and honest. She also helped us with tips to what to see and do in Podgorica.

Highly recommended by business partners, I went on a corporate event organised by Montenegro Adventures. Without any hesitation I say this was by far the most pleasant and professionally organised field trip I have experienced. I frequently participate in and organise corporate events. The tour guides (several of them including a photographer) were extremely attentive and professional. Not only they made the long bus ride very enjoyable with interesting history, culture, natural beauty of Montenegro, they explained exactly what we’ll go/see/do at our stops. Guides were extremely knowledgeable about the area of work that was being discussed, helped with interpretation whenever necessary. My colleagues and I were extremely impressed by their services! They went above and beyond what they were asked/paid for. After my work, I even hired them for my personal excursion. I learned so much about the beautiful country’s history, lifestyle and culture from my guide. Great restaurant recommendations. I can’t wait to visit Montenegro again!

If you are planning a trip to Montenegro, for whatever kind of experience and for whatever length of time, you should make Montenegro Adventures your first point of contact. We had read glowing reviews for them in a couple of guide books, so they were our first stop upon our arrival in Podgorica, but it would be even better to contact them before arriving, if you like to have all your duckies in a row ahead of time.
The four lovely women who work there – Slavica, the boss, and Ana, Ivana and Marina – are fantastically knowledgeable and resourceful, along with being wise and clever and funny and kind. We spent hours in their office, at various points in our three-week stay in Montenegro, fine-tuning our arrangements with their help and advice, and having some good laughs in the bargain. They took great care and a lot of time to help make sure that we got a tailor-made experience: hotels (grand? intimate?), hiking trails (strenuous? easy?), beaches (rocky? sandy? open water?). They had restaurant recommendations (good ones); they called up a bar in a village, to ask about a nearby property with rooms for hire but no working contact info, to ask if they knew the owner; they got us one of the nicest hotel rooms in Kotor, when the town was full; they spent lots of extra time to make sure we got the best airfare for our onward journey to Venice; they made all sorts of arrangements for car rentals and transfers; they even made arrangements for a doctor to check in on a travel companion of ours in an outlying town, when an emergency arose. In fact, they are so good at everything they do that they get asked to do all sorts of exotic Montenegro-related work: organise marathons, suggest various foreign aid projects that might be undertaken by inquiring countries, you name it.
These women are fabulous, the bee’s knees and the cat’s pajamas – call them! Our trip to beautiful Montenegro would have been great without them, but with their help, it was MAGICAL.
